Members of the Cincinnati Parrothead Club celebrate their title as “Most Memorable Water
Stop”
at the 2004 Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. The club displays its check for $650,
raised during the Marathon, that will be donated to the Ruth Lyons’ Children’s Fund.

Cincinnati, Ohio (May 19, 2004) - The "Parrotheads" water stop, manned by
members of the Cincinnati Parrotheads Club, was voted the runners' most
memorable during the 6th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, May 2.

Parrotheads are fans of singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, whose concerts
in Cincinnati are legendary for their "Margaritaville" party atmosphere.

"It's fitting that the 'Parrotheads' were able to bring their sense of fun to the Marathon,"
said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director. "Despite the rain, their water stop was a
bright spot for runners along the course."

For its work at the water stop, the Club received a $650 donation from the Marathon,
which in turn will be donated to the Ruth Lyons' Children's Fund.

The Parrotheads were just one group of the more than 3,000 volunteers recognized
this year with the Grand Victoria Volunteer Tent near the finish line, and at the Grand
Victoria
Volunteer Thank-You Party at the casino on Friday, May 14th. Volunteers were treated
to a free buffet dinner and raffle prizes throughout the evening.

The 6th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon drew a record field of 11, 928 for
the weekend activities. For the second year in a row, local Cincinnati runners took
the top two Marathon divisions, T.J. Lentz for the men and P.J. Ball for the women.

The 7th annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will be held Sunday, May 1, 2005.
