| Buffett coming June 8 That squawking you hear is the sound of parrotheads screaming with joy. Jimmy Buffett, despite persistent rumors to the contrary, is coming to town this summer. According to Buffett's www.margaritaville.com site and the independent www.pollstar.com, he plays Riverbend Music Center on June 8. Tickets - prices to be announced - go on sale March 11 through Ticketmaster (513-562-4949; www.ticketmaster.com). Traditionally they sell out in an hour. Cincinnati has been ground zero among parrotheads ever since the 1985 Timberwolf concert when Buffett band member Timothy B. Schmit looked into the tropically gaudy audience and said, "You guys are all a bunch of parrotheads." Buffett visits have been high holy days ever since, with parrotheads planning outfits months in advance, then taking the day off so tailgate parties can begin as early as 8 a.m. Jim Knippenberg |
